Home Away

Trina felt lost in Tokyo. In last three days since she landed, communication and food has been a problem. Trina’s English is poor and she doesn’t understand Japanese. Trina doesn’t know how she is going to manage next six months in Tokyo.  She is already terribly missing her mom’s food.

She was standing in front of the building where a paying guest facility was available. She liked the house from outside. The street below the house resembled an Indian street. Before entering the building she strolled around the corner and saw a bridge. It was exactly like Worli Sea Link. The view of that bridge suddenly made her feel at home. She also saw two boards across the street ‘Fresh Vegetables’ and ‘Learn Japanese’. She understood that coping won’t be that difficult if she cooked her own food and learned Japanese.

The vegetable vendor was already grinning at her.
